I've been hard at work on a new set of 30 poetry writing prompts, available now at The Poetry Master Class. Thank you to everyone who downloaded '30 Poetry Prompts: Set 1', I hope you're just as inspired by Set 2. To get you in the writing mood, I'm sharing a preview of three prompts from the new set, below.

My inspiration for this prompt was WS Graham's gorgeous poem 'Enter a Cloud'. Which you can read here. Allow yourself to enter a revery as you follow your chosen object with your imagination. Whatever the object, let some of the character of it enter your poem, as the dreamy cloud enters Graham's.

When have you experienced such a case of mistaken identity? Or, imagine a case of mistaken identity, what are the consequences of this mistake? Is the truth about the mistake ever revealed? What is learned (or not learned) as a result?

What kind of journey, what kind of pause, and the reason for the pause are up to you. For example, it may be a rest stop on a long car journey, or an interruption during a walk from one place to another. Your journey may be more abstract, the journey of life, for instance. Where was your starting point and where is your intended destination? These details could mean a lot for your pause.
